WHAT'S HAPPENING

At this very moment, there are an estimated 72,000 fires raging throughout the Amazon Rainforest.

Since January 2019, these fires have increased by 84%, and the amount of land that has been decimated is now greater than the size of the entire European continent.

The time for action is NOW.

THE TRUTH

BEHIND THE FIRES

As climate change continues unabated, the temperatures get higher, and the forests get drier.

Deforestation and antiquated agricultural practices contribute to the decimation of Humanity's most valuable resource and all the creatures that inhabit it.

Slash and burn farming has become the norm over the last 30 years, but this year, in response to Bolsonaro's aggressive economic policies and blatant disregard for the environment, farmers have actively set the rainforest on fire.

On August 10th, a "Day of Fire" was announced, sparking uncontrolled wildfires throughout the Amazon Rainforest.

Indigenous tribes are being displaced and even approached with extreme violence by those who are intent on exploiting the Amazon Rainforest for short-sighted economic interests.

Humanity is uprising and you can join the movement to end this atrocity.

GLOBAL SYNCHRONIZED MEDITATION

seperator.png

We're unifying the peace movement taking action for the week of climate action Sept 20-27th.

On Sept. 21 at 12 noon PDT,

we are inviting you to join us by attending or organizing a peace meditation in your region.

HELP STOP THE FIRES

UNIFY has engaged Flashover, a private disaster management organization, with Global Empowerment Mission, which is equipping Bolivian firefighters with training and the resources needed to address the wildfires in the region.

A coordinated international response of fixed wing air tankers and wildfire suppression specialists have developed a strategy to get the major fires threatening the Amazon under control.

A highly trained force is prepared to deploy immediately and support efforts that are currently underway.

HELP DEFEND THE RAINFOREST

seperator.png

UNIFY has partnered with Rainforest Trust which focuses on saving real acres of rainforest through land purchases and designations. Each of their projects has been identified as crucial to preserving critical habitat for endangered species.

THE INDIGENOUS

ARE UNITING

seperator.png

Amazon Watch supports and promotes indigenous-led alternative solutions to climate change, natural resource extraction, and industrial development.
The knowledge, cultures, and traditional practices of our indigenous partners contribute greatly to sustainable and equitable stewardship of the Amazon and all of Mother Earth. Amazon Watch promotes these indigenous-led solutions, such as green development and autonomous solar power, and expands capacity for indigenous leaders, especially women, to maintain their autonomy and sovereignty for the stewardship of their ancestral territories
